We often hear or see reports about folks claiming to pull down $10K per week or $25K per month and while I don’t doubt that some of these claims are true, I can say emphatically that those earnings are the EXCEPTION and NOT achievable for beginners within a short time-frame.
If that’s true, then what can you realistically expect to earn if you’re just starting out? Our study shows that the typical AdSense Publisher can expect to earn $ .20 (twenty cents) per day, per site during their first month or about $6 per month, per site.
However, there are a number of factors affecting earnings during the first month or so, such as getting the site indexed, getting some articles published and reciprocal links set up, etc., so there is definitely a correlation between the initial deployment and the low, initial earnings.
When we look at the 3rd month of earnings, on average, these folks are reporting an increase to $ .78 (seventy-eight cents) per day, per site or about $23 per month, per site.
When we go back and look at the initial deployment activities, these figures make a lot of sense. It’s interesting to note that 67% of our participants were busy at this point pursuing reciprocal linking and 89% were aggressively writing and publishing articles to article directories.
That median figure helps to put into perspective that there are fewer people hitting the upper earnings range at this point and those who are, are doing so through making a significant effort to promote their sites.
