AdSense AccountOne of the new topics in hitting the forums is the inability of new Google AdSense Publishers to get an AdSense account. Yes, Google has changed the requirements for publishers. Previously all you needed was a Blogger blog. Since Blogger was owned by Adsense, it made a lot of sense just to get the free blog and test your niche on Blogger to see if it was worthwhile. Not anymore. 1. You must own your own website. So, http://www.makemoneyonlinereport.com would qualify and http://makemoneymoneyonlinereport/hostedforfree.com would not. 2. The site ownership information, i.e. name and address, and the payment information you submit to AdSense must be an exact match. If the website was registered under a wife's name and the information you gave AdSense was under the husband's name, this would disqualify you from being an AdSense publisher. If you registered the site under a business name and gave AdSense your personal information for billing purposes, this also would be disqualified. 3. Your site must be at least six months old. This is the restriction where people are finding the most amount of loopholes. You can buy an aged domain online and there is a thriving marketplace on several webmaster forums for such sites. Like the little old lady who drove her car only on Sunday, a one owner site that has never had its ownership transferred is one that is preferred by buyers. Usually, if you purchase a domain from the owner, Google doesn't register that the site is actually under six months old. The other marketplace are the auctions held by the actual Domain Registrars. They have sites where the ownership has not been renewed that are up for auction, some for immediate purchase. (Always be prepared to wait a week after you've purchased one of these sites before it's available in your site list.) Google monitors these expired domains and when they find a change of ownership, in many cases they reset the site's age. But not always. Buying an aged or expired domain to circumvent Google's AdSense policy is a roll of the dice at best. If they really bring the force of their technology to finding ownership changes, this loophole will close. 4. You must have substantial, original content on your website. Actually, this is good advice for both new and old webmasters. Google will take steps if your content is not original. Try to have at a minimum 5 articles up, before you apply to the AdSense Program. 5. Your site (actually you,) must follow Google AdSense policies. Following the policies and keeping aware of Google AdSense Terms of Service (the dreaded TOS) is a must for all webmasters. This is one thing you never farm out to an SEO company. While Google delivers TOS and policy changes directly to your GMail account, while you are applying to become an AdSense publisher, it's important that you know what Google's policies are, so you are not in violation.
